CARE INSTRUCTIONS

At SkyeJade Beauty, we strive to deliver the best possible outcome at each and every one of your appointments, achieving the best results for YOU! Please read and follow our pre and post care recommendations to help with enhancing your service.

SPRAY TAN PREPARATION

Prepare your skin well before your spray tan appointment for that gorgeous glow of confidence.


DO's

  • Remove any unwanted body hair before your appointment.

  • Shaving or depilatory creams at least 24 hours prior

  • Waxing at least 48 hours prior

  • Thoroughly exfoliate your skin 24 hours prior to your spray tan.

  • Use a dry brush, body mitt or exfoliating body scrub. (All available for purchase at SkyeJade Beauty)

  • Keep your skin moisturized and nourished on the days leading up to your spray tan.

  • Come to your spray tan appointment freshly showered

  • This also means no bras ladies!)Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing and slip-on shoes after your tan (

  • Book your spray tan for 2 days before your special event where possible. This will allow time for your

  • tan to develop and process for the perfect glow.

DON'Ts

  • Don’t wear perfumes, deodorants, lotions, creams or make-up to your appointment.

  • Don’t come to your appointment sunburnt

  • Don’t get Laser, IPL or cosmetic peels for at least a week prior to your spray tan appointment

  • Don’t over-exfoliate the skin. This can cause minor scratches and irritation to the skin and an unevenresult.​

SPRAY TAN AFTERCARE

Caring for your tan correctly afterwards will help extend the life of the tan and encourage an even fade.


DO's

  • Leave the spray tan to develop for at least 2 hours before washing off.

  • Keep dry and cool during the processing time. Any type of moisture, including sweat, can lead to apatchy and uneven tan.

  • Wash off the tan in the shower until the water runs clear.

  • PAT the skin dry gently with a towel after showering

  • Use Sunescape Hydrating Shower Gel and Body Butter to keep skin hydrated and assist with an eve fade (Available for purchase at SkyeJade Beauty)

  • Use Sunescape Gradual Tan Extender to keep your tan looking fresher for longer. (Available for purchase at SkyeJade Beauty)

  • Allow a further 6 hours for the tan to develop, revealing the final result

  • After 7-10day when the majority of the tan has worn off, an exfoliating mitt can be used to remove any stubborn patches of tan that still remain.

  • Leave 2 weeks between tanning appointments to minimise build-up and help encourage another beautiful and even glow.

DON'Ts

  • Don’t cause friction to the skin

  • Don’t use soaps or cleansers containing sodium laurel sulphate, AHA’s and BHA’s

  • Don’t wax, shave or use hair removal creams. This will strip your tan

  • Don’t take long, hot showers and baths

  • Don’t go swimming for extended periods of time

  • Don’t schedule any other spa treatments such as facials, massage, manicures, pedicures and waxing

  • for at least a week after your spray tan appointment

  • IMPORTANT: DO NOT have Laser or IPL treatments until your tan has completely worn off.

LASH PREPARATION

To achieve the most beautiful, long-lasting colour and curl for your natural lashes……


DO's

  • Come to your appointment with clean lashes

  • Remove all eye make-up before your appointment

  • Make sure ALL false lashes are removed prior to your appointment

  • Let us know of any past reactions or sensitivities you may have experienced with any lash work

  • For Lash Lift clients: make sure it has been AT LEAST 6 weeks between your lash lift appointments

DON’Ts

  • Don’t wear contact lenses to your appointment

  • Don’t curl your natural lashes for at least 24 hours before a lash lift

  • Avoid waterproof mascara for 48 hours before your lash appointment

  • Do not get another lash lift before 6 weeks

​

LASH TINT AFTERCARE

A little lash tint has a big impact, making that eye area pop! Aftercare for this treatment is minimal, with a few tips to keep in mind.

DO's

  • Keep lashes dry for 24hrs

  • Keep lashes protected from strong UV light and direct sunlight. This will make your lash tint fade quicker

  • Use a lash serum to maintain lash health and hydration

  • Rebook your lash tint every 4-6 weeks.

​

DON'Ts​

  • Don’t put in contact lenses for the rest of the day

  • Avoid applying makeup or oil based products in the eye-area for at least 24 hours

  • Avoid swimming, saunas and steam treatments for 24hours

  • Do not receive any other eye treatments for at least 24 hours

​

LASH LIFT AFTERCARE

Your lashes will take a further 24-48hours to properly cure after your lash lift is complete. Following the aftercare correctly will ensure your freshly curled and lifted lashes will stay looking luscious for the longest and in the best possible health.

DO's

  • Sleep on your back for the first night. For side sleepers (like me), try to sleep right on the edge of you
    pillow to avoid your lashes getting squashes

  • Use ELLEEPLEX Advanced Aftercare Serum

  • Use ELLEEVATE Mascara adding dimension and definition for my mascara lover

  • Brush through lashes morning and night after showering

  • Leave 6-8 weeks between lash lift appointments. A Lash Tint can be done in between lash lift

  • appointments to redefine your lashes

DON'Ts

  • DO NOT GET LASHES WET OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS

  • Don’t have very hot showers, any steam treatments or use a sauna for 24 hours after your lift

  • Do not swim or immerse face in water for 24-48 hours

  • Do not wear eye-makeup or apply foundations near the lash lid area

  • Do not wear waterproof mascara on your lifted lashes, this may affect the longevity of your lift

  • Do not undertake any activities causing excess sweat and perspiration for 24 hours avoid using oil-based products around the eye area

BROW PREPARATION

Brows are a bit of a big deal in the current beauty world and we know that a correctly styled brow can make all the difference when framing your beautiful face. Preparing your skin beforehand will help the products to effectively absorb, develop evenly and last longer to achieve your perfect brows.

DO's

  • Remove all brow make-up prior to your appointment

  • Let us know of any reactions or sensitivities experienced in the past so we can use the most suitable products for you

  • Gently exfoliate brows 2 days prior to getting your brows tinted/dyed…especially if you experience flaking in the brows or suffer from dry skin

  • Keep brows moisturised leading up to your brow appointment

  • Contact us prior to your appointment if you have compromised skin in the brow area

DON'Ts

  • Don’t tint, pluck, shave or wax your eyebrows prior to your appointment

  • Avoid constantly touching brows

  • Don’t come to your appointment with sunburn

​

BROW TINT/DYE AFTERCARE

Keep your brows looking the best for longest and prevent the tint/dye from fading prematurely.

DO's

  • Keep brows dry for 24hours

  • Style brows with a brow soap or gel after 24 hours

  • If you are trying to grow your brows back in to achieve a fuller shape after the 90’s era, you may need to fill in some areas of your brows in that awkward growing stage with a pencil, powder or pomade after the initial tint/dye wears off the skin. We can help show tips and tricks at your appointment to make your life easier

  • Rebook your brows between 3-6 weeks to keep them looking A-mazing!

DON'Ts

  • Avoid applying makeup in the brow area for at least 24 hours

  • Avoid swimming, saunas and steam treatments for 24hours

  • Avoid direct sunlight and other strong UV lights

  • Avoid oil based products around the treatment area for 24hours

  • Avoid touching the area for 24 hours

​

BROW LAMINATION AFTERCARE

Your new brow shape will take a further 24-48 hours for the hairs to lock into place and cure properly, so aftercare throughout this time is super important to achieve a lasting result.

​

DO's

  • Keep brows dry for at least 24 hours

  • After 24 hours, brush brows upwards daily with a pikster or brow spooly after showering or before

  • styling for the day

  • After the first few days, it is recommended to use a brow oil morning and night to keep brow hair

  • hydrated and in the best health

  • After a few days, you may use a styling gel or brow soap as needed to create a sleek, styled and glossy look and keep brow hairs locked in place for the day

  • Leave a minimum of 7-8 weeks between brow lamination appointments

DON'Ts

  • Avoid workouts or anything that will create moisture or sweat in the brow area for at least 24 hours

  • Avoid very hot showers, saunas or any heat treatments for at least 24 hours

  • Do not apply makeup or any other products in the brow area for 24 hours

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and other UV light

  • Do not apply retinol, AHA’s or exfoliants near the treated area for 48 hours

  • Avoid over-touching the treated area

COSMETIC TATTOO PREPARATION

Preparation and aftercare is key for your cosmetic tattoo. It is important to read through all of the information provided to give you the best canvas for your new artwork on your face. We need you in the best health to allow optimal healing for your cosmetic tattoo and pigment retention. Not following these may cause excessive bleeding, resulting in difficult pigment implantation and a patchy result. Please read carefully to prepare before your procedure.

DO's

  • Book your mandatory consult at least one week prior to your tattoo, along with your mapping session
    if recommended

  • Please allow enough time on the day of booking so you are not feeling rushed, stressed or anxious to get to or from your appointment

  • Let us know prior to your appointment if you are unwell, injured or not 100% levels stabilised throughout the procedure

  • Ensure to eat a healthy and well balanced meal prior to your appointment to keep your blood sugar

  • Make sure any waxing, tweezing/plucking, threading and tinting are to be done at least one week

  • prior to your tattoo appointment

  • Come to your appointment with clean skin free of makeup

  • Wash your hair that morning (this will avoid your having to get your healing tattoo wet in the shower)

  • Botox, Fillers etc should be done at least 4 weeks prior to appointment

  • Take care of your skin leading up to your appointment

DON'Ts

  • Do not use any creams or serums containing retinal, AHA’s, vitamins A, C and; E for 1-2 weeks before procedure

  • No intensive chemical or laser face treatments 5 days prior to appointment

  • Do not take fish oils and; vitamin E oils for a week prior to your appointment

  • Avoid blood thinning medications, such as ibuprofen or aspirin (unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor) for 72 hours before appointment

  • Do not consume alcohol 24hours prior to your appointment

  • Do not work out 24hours prior to appointment

  • Do not consume Coffee or other caffeinated drinks on the day of your appointment. This includes energy drinks, pre-workout, coke and tea.

  • Do not come to your appointment with a sunburnt face or compromised skin in the treatment area. You will be turned away and your deposit will be forfeited.

  • Eyelid, Lasik or any other type of face-lift surgery should be done at least 12 months prior to your appointment

POST COSMETIC TATTOOING PROCEDURE

Aftercare plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and proper healing of your tattoo, whether and; is for your brows or lips. It is crucial for preventing any infections and promoting optimal pigment retention, ultimately resulting in a beautiful and long-lasting outcome.

​

DO's

  • After appointment, blot the treatment area with a clean tissue to absorb any excess lymphatic fluid until any oozing has stopped

  • Gently wash the area with your fingertips and a soap free wash, like Cetaphil before bed and in the morning for 7-10 days or until healed. Blot dry afterwards

  • After gently cleansing, sparingly apply aftercare cream that was supplied to you with clean cotton tips to keep area hydrated and protected

  • Apply aftercare cream throughout the day in a fine layer to promote healing for 7-10 days

  • Wait at least 4 weeks before getting Botox, Fillers, etc

  • Keep area clean

  • Gently tap area with clean fingertips if itchy during the healing process

  • Book your perfecting session between 6-10 weeks

​

DON'Ts

For approximately 7-10 days post Cosmetic tattooing.

​

  • No swimming in pools or at the beach

  • Do not immerse treatment area underwater or in shower

  • No saunas or spa environments

  • Do not pick or scratch the area

  • Avoid skincare containing vitamin A, bleaches or acids

  • No heavy workouts or anything producing excess sweat

  • Avoid prolonged direct sunlight

  • Avoid makeup on or near the treated area

Waxing
WAXING PREPARATION

Get prepped for a beautiful soft and smooth finish. You will be glad you did!

DO's

  • Allow the hair to grow, but not too long. About 0.5cm is a good length or about 3-4 weeks growth

  • Gently exfoliate your skin a minimum of 48 hours prior to your waxing appointment.

  • Use a dry brush, body mitt or exfoliating body polish. (Available for purchase at SkyeJade Beauty)

  • Keep your skin moisturized and nourished on the days leading up to your spray tan.

  • Come to your waxing appointment with clean, dry skin, free of oils and product

  • Wear loose-fitting clothing (or cotton underwear for brazillian/bikini wax)

  • Rebook your appointment every 4-6 weeks to get into a regular waxing routine and hair growth cycle. This will help to reduce

​

DON'Ts

  • Don’t wear perfumes, deodorants, lotions, creams or make-up to your waxing appointment

  • Don’t come to your appointment sunburnt or with compromised skin in the treatment area

  • Don’t over-exfoliate or exfoliate too close to your appointment. This will cause irritation to the skin

​

WAXING AFTERCARE

Show your skin some lovin’ after a wax and follow the aftercare information below for best post-wax results.

DO's

  • Calm your skin afterwards with a clean cold compress on the area if you are experiencing any minor irritation

  • Have cool showers

  • Use mild unscented soaps and shower gels for the first 24 hours

  • Apply an antiseptic cream to the area for the first 3 days post wax

  • Use a nourishing cream daily

  • Apply an ingrown hair wash, gel, lotion or cream to the area if you have experienced ingrown hairs in the past

  • Keep treated area clean

  • Gently exfoliate skin a few days after waxing and continue twice a week thereafter

  • Wear clean, loose fitting clothes

DON'Ts

  • Do not over-touch or scratch the area with unwashed hands

  • Avoid tanning, sunbathing or fake tans

  • Do not have very hot showers or baths

  • Avoid heavy workouts, sport and exercise for the first 24 hours

  • Do not go to swimming pools or the beach for the first 24 hours

  • Avoid saunas and steam treatments

  • Avoid massage or spa environments

  • Do not apply deodorants or other products to the treated area for the first 24 hours, unless otherwise advised

  • Avoid anything causing heat or friction in the waxed area for the next 24-48hours

  • Do not shave between appointments

​

Slight Tenderness, mild itching/burning, small spots/bumps and redness may occur after waxing. This is common and usually a normal and temporary response, especially if it is your first wax. These symptoms usually subside over the next few days.
